Check-in
On-line Advanced Check In
It may be possible to do an advanced check-in on line, depending on the airline company with whom you are travelling. Advanced check-in from home reduces your waiting time at the airport. You can print your boarding pass either at home, at one of your airline’s self-serve stations at the airport or use the digital format by having it sent to your mobile device.
Next, print out your registered baggage tags at one of your airline’s self-serve stations at the airport. Then deposit your luggage at the bag-drop counter.
Note that certain airlines - such as Air Canada - require that online advanced check-in be done before your departure. Please consult your airline’s website for more information or contact one of Voyages Bergeron’s travel experts.
Airport Check In
Passengers on international flights must register at least 3 hours before planned departure time (90 minutes for domestic flights). Be particularly punctual during the busiest hours, between 6:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and between 3:00 pm. and 7:00 p.m., as well as high season periods such as Christmas, school breaks, etc.
To check in you must go to the counter of your airline company, indicated by signs and/or TV screens. You register, deposit your luggage and get your boarding pass at this counter.
Once you are in the airport, you will see large screens and signs to help you locate your airline. Make your way to their counter or self-serve stations.
If you check in at the counter with one of the service agents, that person will take your luggage and give you a boarding pass.
If you check in using a self-serve station, the machine will give you a copy of your boarding pass and baggage tags. Affix the tags to your luggage as indicated in the instructions on the tags. Now all you have to do is take your luggage to the bag-drop counter.

Pre-boarding Security
The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) encourages you to go to the security gate immediately after you have checked in. There can be long line ups and delays, particularly at busy times of day or during high season periods
In order to help pre-boarding security run smoothly, avoid having items prohibited by the CATSA on you or in your carry-on bags. You can save a lot of time by removing metallic objects from yourself and your carry-on bags before getting into line.
Never make jokes or comments about bombs, weapons or guns while you are in the security control area. In certain cases it can represent a criminal offence under the Canadian Criminal Code.
-
Boarding
Once past the security zone, you may take advantage of commercial services (shops, bars and restaurants), or sit comfortably in the waiting room at the gate indicated on your boarding pass. The time that you must be at your gate is indicated on your boarding pass. One final identification check will be done by your airline at boarding time. Have your boarding pass and one piece of identification on hand.
Enjoy your flight!
